A HISTORY OF SUCCESS
When the Foundation first began, it provided scholarships to graduating seniors of all public high schools in the Credit Union's service area. Since Tennessee Promise provides two years of tuition-free attendance at a community or technical college in Tennessee, Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union Foundation for Education has looked for other ways to help our local schools.
Now, the SIMPLY SMART Grant provides educators with tools and resources to offer the best learning experience for students. Whether it's a new curriculum, outdoor learning equipment, new classroom seating, or other great projects, the Simply Smart Grant helps educators meet the needs of their students.
Eligibility Criteria: (1) Employed full-time as an educator at an eligible public high school, (2) Intends to continue teaching in the consecutive school year, and (3) Project grant funds may be used for registration fees, but not for transportation. Recipients of the last year's Simply Smart Grant are not eligible to apply for this school year. However, any other educator from the school may apply.
